DEMAND DRIVEN RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
ASF will extend its support on a matching grant basis for
demand-driven applied research to be conducted by private
or public institutions, leading to enhanced quality production
and improved production processes, or to meet an identified
market demand. The primary objectives of this category of
ASF grant are as follows:
To create linkages between farmers, agribusiness enterprises,
researchers and academia.
- To find effective solutions to constraints of agriculture
production, agri-processing, value addition and productivity
enhancement.
- To encourage a participatory approach, so as to ensure
that the research is client-oriented and demand-driven.
- To help transform research results into practical recommendations
for agriculture production and the agribusiness industry.
- To enhance the probability of research efforts addressing
the most relevant issues.
